The first couple of weeks after having a newborn baby can often be quite overwhelming. These first days are full of joy and happiness, and all those emotions you are feeling now inside are bringing a new feelings as well: endless love, care, protection and even a fear. Slowly learning new habits, getting use to each other day by day. Those first days are the beginning of your life journey together, and they are so unique and fragile.

You are creating a life, how incredible is that? It's such a special time to remember: when you feel the first little kicks, the hiccups, that little heartbeat growing stronger inside your womb.
Maternity photos are not only for your own memory, but for your children. These photos will let your child to have a chance to let to know you: who you were, just before they were born.
I promise to capture you in a way that will accentuate your beauty and fully illustrate just how glowing and radiant you are. Just smile mama – you got this! From experience, I can say that nobody ever regrets having had a maternity photoshoot, but plenty of moms absolutely regret not having had one.
The session itself includes portraits of you and your family. I usually recommend to schedule a session somewhere between your 27th and 34th week of pregnancy.

your motherhood & kids shoot
I absolutely love babies! At around 5 to 10 months, babies are so curious, exploring the world around them with wide eyes and big, hearty smiles. The squishy arms, legs and bellies disappear so quickly once the little one starts to walk, and it reminds us that the baby age, just like any, is over in the blink of an eye.
All the more reason to capture the unique personality of your little one and the bond between you at this age!
But this session really isn't only for a small babies and fresh mamas. It's for mothers and kids of all ages. Because let's face it, fellow mom, in our eyes the kids will be always small no matter how old they are, right? And we as mothers, we need photographs. To remind us of all the magic and wonder we have brought into the world through our children.

Very pleased with Rufina's work - she's a lovely, warm person, and a definite professional in terms of handling the little "models". Her studio is set up in an excellent & relaxing manner for both the family of the baby, and the baby itself. This was not the first newborn photoshoot we did, and I was really impressed with this session! Newborn shoots - frequently asked questions
How old should my baby be for a newborn session?
The best age for a newborn session is when the baby is 5-14 days old, because little ones are sleeping better, they do not react on the noise around and nothing is bothering them ( like stomach ache etc.)
When should I book a newborn session?
You should contact me when you are pregnant and inform me about your due date to reserve your calendar slot. 2-3 days after your baby is born you then contact me again and we will schedule your shoot day.
Where and when will the shoot take place?
It's best to schedule the shoot for the first half of the day at a time with plenty of natural light (depending on season). I prefer to photography newborns in my cosy home studio in Espoo (Saunalahti).
How long is a newborn shoot?
All of this depends completely on your little one and how well they sleep. We take our time and go with their needs. It can be 1 hour or 4 hours... The average shoot is about 2-3 hours with breaks for feeding, changing diapers etc.
what about accessories and props?
All accessories and props like baskets, blankets, toys, wraps, hats...are mine and ready for you. All of it is washed before every shoot. If you have own accessories or ideas for the session you are welcome to take them with you.
How can i prepare for a newborn shoot?
The baby should be fed and healthy, but the main point is for mom to be calm and happy and not to worry about anything, because all worries can influence the baby's mood. I'm here for you and will make you feel 100% comfortable.
